Management Team



Larry Andrews, B.A., LLB
CEO/Owner

 Larry graduated from the University of Alberta in the spring of 1971 with a degree in law. Immediately after graduation he articled with Matheson and Company. Following Larry's Articles, he was offered a position with Matheson and Company. However, he set up a law office in the summer of 1972 and practiced with Colin Taylor, until December 1975.

Since that time, he has been engaged in the land development business. While his principal business has been in the Edmonton area, he has also been actively involved in business in Munich, Honolulu, Southern California and most recently Dubai.

Larry established the Gibraltar Group of Companies in 1972 and subsequently amalgamated them into Landrex Corp. Since that time Landrex has become one of the most successful privately held land development firms in Alberta. Landrex has developed over 6000 residential lots, hundreds of multi-family units and has built or bought over 500,000 square feet of commercial properties.

In 2004, Larry incorporated Dynasty Builders and entered the housing market. It is Larry's goal to build high quality yet affordable single and multifamily homes in the Edmonton metro area. This company is now owned by Larry's son, Taylor.

In 2005, Larry was one of 100 people in Alberta who received a one-time commemorative Alberta Centennial Medal for the outstanding contributions he has made to Alberta, his industry, his community and his fellow citizens.

His commitment to sports and arts has been consistent and generous over the years. For more than 25 years Landrex has been the primary sponsor of the Big Brothers Big Sisters dream home and since 2001 has been the lead sponsor to the Big Brother/Big Sister Golf Tournament. In 2012, Larry received the President's Award sponsored by the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation.

Larry has generously donated $1,000,000 to the University of Alberta to support the Landrex Distinguished Professorship in the Faculty of Arts. Currently, he is a member of the Chancellor's Circle, University of Alberta's most distinguished Appreciation Society.

In October of 2013, Landrex received the Chamber of Commerce Chair's Award of Distinction which is presented, at the discretion of the Chair, to a business that embodies and exhibits overall outstanding achievement and leadership in St. Albert, and an ongoing and consistent involvement in community events locally and provincially.

Larry’s commitment to the Peter Lougheed Leadership College at the University of Alberta will provide formal leadership education through a mentoring and training experience that will attract, retain and inspire Alberta’s future leaders. The Andrews’ family foundation has committed to donating $1 million to the construction and maintenance of a family forum building, at $100,000 annually for 10 years beginning in 2015. 

In 2015, Landrex was the presenting sponsor for St. Michael’s Extended Care Society’s, 9th Annual Blue Angel Dinner which raised over $130,000 in net proceeds, for the enhancement of programs, services and resident care of the elderly. 

Landrex was the proud recipient of the Business Leader Canada’s Volunteer Award. This prestigious award is one of only a few presented by the Prime Ministers office and recognized Landrex as the chosen recipient for the Prairie Provinces.

·        LANDREX GIFTED THE FORMER KING OF KINGS LUTHERAN CHURCH BUILDING TO THE FATHER’S HOUSE IN STURGEON COUNTY. THE BUILDING WILL BE MOVED IN JULY OF 2017 AND THE CHURCH IS EXPECTED TO BE HOLDING SERVICES BY JANUARY OF 2018.

Jim Sheasgreen, P.Eng.
President

Jim first joined Landrex in September 2008 as a Project Manager for land development projects and has successfully earned the responsibility to oversee the ‘green field to construction’ delivery of Landrex’s land holdings and ensure the end goal of constructed communities and saleable assets. As a result, Jim is accountable to prepare, plan, and execute the community development of our land holdings and numerous projects. Facets of the business he is responsible for include, but are not limited to, project budgets and proformas, regulatory approvals, planning and engineering, contract negotiations, construction.

As part of the Landrex management team, Jim provides leadership and support to create and implement corporate strategic plans, major business decisions, and project decisions, while focusing on accomplishing both short and long term set goals. He is an avid spokesperson for Landrex within our communities, region and industry, providing representation at meetings, corporate events, client events, and stakeholder functions.

Prior to joining Landrex, Jim spent 5 years as a Project Engineer / Manager for MMM Group in the Land Development Department. As a design engineer and project manager for land development and municipal projects, responsibilities included detailed design, design coordination with sub-consultants, infrastructure upgrades, utility design, site servicing, grading, storm water management, cost estimating, contract administration, as well as construction management.

His academic background includes a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta (2003).

Garry Wetsch, Q.C.
Counsel

Garry joined Landrex in 2010 as Counsel, bringing over 35 years of experience in corporate, commercial, real estate, municipal and international transactions. During his practice, Garry dealt with many entities focused on growth and the needs thereof. As Counsel to Landrex, Garry is responsible to oversee, coordinate and attend to various legal aspects that pertain to the multiple divisions of Landrex and its numerous projects.

Garry graduated from the University of Alberta in 1971 with an L.L.B. He received his Queen's Counsel appointment in 1990. Garry was a partner at the law firm of Hustwick, Wetsch, Moffat and McCrae from 1975 to 2006; when he left and joined an Alberta-based investment/real estate company.

During his career Garry has made a commitment to maintain a diverse interest in community matters such as President of the Spruce Grove Rotary Club, Speaker at Conferences (as to legal aspects of doing business internationally), City of St. Albert Alderman, member of the Northern Alberta Trans-Alta Advisory Board, Member Edmonton Regional Planning Commission, Steward of Greater Edmonton Competitive Strategy, Regent Grant MacEwan College member of Board Directors of Spruce Grove- Sturgeon-St. Albert constituency, as well as served on three Alberta Government committees regarding commercialization of technologies.

In 2003, Garry received the Queens Golden Jubilee Commemorative Medal presented by the Alberta Provincial Government on behalf of the Government of Canada. Garry presently is a Shareholder and Director of several companies, including a publicly traded company.

Aileen Campbell, CGA, MBA
Chief Financial Officer

Aileen joined Landrex in December 2007 and is responsible for the annual corporate and project budgeting, project feasibility, cash flow management and the sourcing of funds both from traditional sources (banks) and private investors or equity funds. She is also responsible for the accuracy of the financial statements, corporate annual returns and other finance-related reports.

Prior to joining Landrex, she spent almost four years at Finning Canada serving several capacities during her tenure. Her most recent role before leaving Finning was as Regional Financial Manager for the Power Systems Division that has $100 million worth of assets and portfolios.

Her other roles in Finning included Reporting Manager and Budget Supervisor. Aileen was the Senior Accountant for Cooper Cameron Canada, an oil and gas company based in Houston, USA, from 2001 to 2004. She also spent 4 years with Arthur Andersen as an Audit Supervisor. Her clients included telecommunication companies, financial institutions and banks.

Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Accounting Science from the University of Calgary and has two accounting designations, the CPA and CGA. She also completed her Master of Business Administration from Laurentian University.

Lorraine Bodnarek, B. Comm
Vice President, Commercial Development

Lorraine has 25 years of corporate project management specializing in medical, industrial and professional office and site developments. Her role is to work towards growth in the Company’s commercial portfolio. She has a proven track record in facility and corporate management, IT process and integration of business operations. She focuses on sound project execution with attention to follow-up, occupancy, long term client relationships and investment growth.

Her experience includes working for JDE Construction Management Ltd. (6 years) as a Project Coordinator reviewing construction contracts for arbitration and mediation claims including the Construction Scheduling for $100 million expansion project on the RAH (1991-92). From 1993 Lorraine worked for IBM Canada as Regional Project and Facilities Manager – overseeing construction and Data Centre projects from $1 million - $40 million in Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver. She worked for 3 years with Finning (Canada) as Director of Real Estate and IT, managing 40+ employees, over 1 million square feet of industrial, shop, office and warehouse facilities in addition to managing the site development, sales and leasing of all properties across Western Canada. Lorraine was responsible for the capital budgets (for all Finning facilities) exceeding $40 million per annum (2007) and operating budgets between $4 and 6 million per annum.

Lorraine has been with Landrex since 2007 – overseeing the expansion of corporate, medical and retail developments and overseeing all aspects of property management for existing facilities. Lorraine sources new locations (for purchase), develops pro-formas, including servicing and construction costs, engineering and planning elements - hiring teams, initiating and executing contracts for sales or leasing and managing current lease contracts. She is also responsible for the marketing, sale and/lease of land in new developments that combine both commercial and residential tracts of land. Lorraine protects the Company’s investments long term with positive cash flow and highly maintained properties and sustainable practices. Lorraine’s academic background includes a B.Comm from the University of Alberta, a Business Admin Diploma (MacEwan University – formerly Grant MacEwan), Project Management Professional, and Facilities Management Certificate.

Marilyn Richardson
Corporate Services

Marilyn joined the Landrex team in 2014 and is responsible for Corporate Services which includes; Human Resources and Communications, Internal Processes, Information Systems and Technology.

As an experienced senior leader, Marilyn brings over 30 years of private industry and consulting experience to the team, which results in her ability to identify, recommend and implement practical solutions that meet the needs of the business. Marilyn has worked in a variety of industries including public sector, government, banking, retail, health, energy and telecommunications.

Marilyn has successfully led the implementation of change within organizations, both in an operational and project capacity, which have resulted in demonstrated and measurable results. She is experienced in managing upwards of a 100 employees and multi-million dollar budgets.

Marilyn’s background includes in depth knowledge and experience in Leadership/Team coaching and development, human resources, performance management and competency development, Organizational efficiency/assessment, quality principles and tools, Organizational change and system implementation.

Tamara Molzahn, CGA
Controller

Tamara is responsible for the preparation and review of the financial statements of Landrex and all of its subsidiaries. She also oversees accounting and implementation and monitoring of internal controls within the organization.

Prior to joining Landrex in 2011, she held Controller positions with Leeward Group, a real estate development company in the Turks and Caicos Islands, and with Hyduke Services Ltd., a publicly traded oilfield service company located in Nisku, Alberta. Prior to working in private industry she worked with KPMG as Audit Manager.

She obtained an MBA with Merit from Warwick Business School in 2014 and holds a CGA designation.
